Do you mean there’s a spot after the fact, or if you had applied, those would be the easier admits? FSB has a new friday half day thing once a month w no transportation or extended care, and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked what dual working families did about that.

Didn’t actually look into boys latin, for no real reason other than walkability.

I’m surprised so many people look at McD and Gilman- I know they’re only 10ish miles apart but w traffic that’s a lot! Maybe if I had a 9th grader applying we would have considered it, but just couldn’t fathom considering schools so far away and locking us into that commute. [/quote]

If you had applied as a full pay you'd probably walk into either schools. Even after admissions ends, for K-8 there's probably a space or two held open for latecomers. Maybe harder for 9th grade.

You have to be ok with your kid spending a lot of time on the bus.  Convenient for parents, but due to the number of stops, it can be a 45 minute to hour ride for the kid, each way.[/quote]
