I read that ruling as assuming that Harris would win.  It wasn't shortsighted, it was long sighted, thinking of a long lasting framework that would apply to all presidents with a baseline level of integrity and/or patriotism along with the obligatory narcissism, ambition, and self-centeredness that the role entails.  Unfortunately, neither Trump nor Musk have that baseline level.[/quote]

Lol.... assumptions about who may or may not win a future election has no influence on the decisions rendered by the SCOTUS. You have no clue what our highest judicial authority is all about or what the members of that court go through to get appointed and confirmed. Read a book, please. [/quote]

I have the greatest respect for the Supreme Court, I am a lawyer.  I see their familiarity, and lack of familiarity, with people and their nature every day.  I also see that Supreme Court opinions are not static, they revisit issues and refine rulings, sometimes significantly.  [/quote]
