However, CDC did give hospitals an update to start sequencing specimens for all hospitalized flu A patients to identify H5. It is very expensive to do so and also slow as it can require sending specimens to a specialized lab. But hospitals will find it if it is out there. Without CDC oversight or reporting though, we will not have a full picture of what is happening. [/quote]
