This is double the severance most companies offer. I’d be so gone if I was a fed.
But you aren’t a fed. That’s the difference. People are civil servants for lesser salaries because they want to be civil servants. There are also protections in place for reduction in force and for terminations. The real question is why is this administration trying to do this in a rush?
And this should be the question every reporter ask them. Why can't they do this is an orderly fashion? What can't they evaluate while providing stability? What can't they write orders, edicts, and policy that is not ambiguous and only takes away what is needed? etc etc. Answer: Because they know they can't possible get close to the number of saved $$ that they promised without chaos and destruction. They know they will have to fight unions and fight in court which will tie things up and make them look bad. They know they put up a bunch of unqualified Secretaries and Senior staff that will take 6+ months to figure out what their agency actual does. They know as long as they keep up with the shock and awe it will distract people from how many of their rights are being taken away, the fact their democracy is becoming an authoritarian regime, and the fact that they are getting rich off it all. They know a great many people, many of their own base will be hurt. Why is DT trying to saying that presidential immunity should keep him from paying E Jean Carroll? What about his job has anything to do with a court case and ruling that was handed down while he was not president? [b] Don't follow their new shiny object everyday.[b] Ask them the hard questions, and ask about what supposedly they were voted in office to do. Why are eggs and other grocery prices rising and what do they plan to do about it? What's going on with Disaster recovery? What's going on with the Ukraine/Russia peace deal? What about Israel and Palestine? How are they planning to get college cost under control?
+ 1000
