I wonder if it has to do with the huge wage gap between hourly workers and those they are providing customer service too. There will always be isolated cases, particularly at higher end establishments with higher prices. But when you leave this area, even the overnight clerk at the Holiday Inn Express is friendly and helpful. [/quote]
