Mundo Verde P is close to MBT trail to connect to Brookland and NE side of Capitol Hill. Easy to bike
Those few blocks from MBT to MVP are super sketchy both from a traffic and a gun violence perspective. I would not want to go by Tyler House and SOME 4x/day (taking kid there, going home, getting kid, going home) 180 days a year.
You wouldn't go by either of those places between MBT and MVP. Lots of families do bike or bus. Still not a problem-free area, though.
How would you go? If you take FL to NY to P (old Dave Thomas Circle), that is not a safe bike route. If you take N, you end up on the corner between Big Ben and Tyler House.
So many families do this every day. On Wed mornings there is even a group ride (Bike bus). Take MBT to Q St, cross N Cap. Come down N Cap to P. Take MBT to R, ride across to N Cap or 1st St NW, ride south to P. If you want to stay south, MBT to ramp (M St), up 1st St NE, FL Ave for a block then cross on P St.
