Dr. Oz was actually ok with 2-3% of children possibly dying, just so they could open the schools. He will play Russian roulette with our parents now.
You have any data to back that up?
The COVID death rate for the under 18 population has literally been around 1/100,000 per year. The social harms of COVID lockdowns significantly outweighed the benefits for this age group. The increased mortality from worse mental health and negative educational outcomes is substantially greater than the deaths caused by COVID among children.
I don’t agree with the lockdowns, but you’re quoting lockdown Covid deaths as if they would have been static without a lockdown and that would not have been the case. Change the conditions and you change the outcomes.
I’m talking about the number of covid deaths from the under 18 population from Jan 2020-June 2023. This was the annual per capita death rate from COVID over the 2.5 year period. Basically, everyone in the US has had covid at Thai point so, the lockdowns would have made very little difference in the total number of deaths among children over this entire time period. They didn’t reduce deaths much overall, they mainly delayed the inevitable for people with severe immune genetic vulnerability to COVID.
