People can’t afford very expensive liberal enclaves. So they moved to crappy red places that they can afford.

Or they want a really big house and want to look "wealthy" so they move to a cheap red state instead of living a poorer looking life where they are.

As someone who moved from the deep south the Maryland, I don't plan to go back, even though COL is higher here. Would be afraid I couldn't afford to move back up to the mid Atlantic and be priced out. It's really nice having many nice free parks, and leaf pickup, and lots of good libraries; my taxes pay for quite a bit. [/quote]
