I tossed some that was left out overnight (staying at someone’s house) and the cook was horrified. Apparently she always leaves it out like that (under the impression that the vinegar kills everything). Not nationality bashing here: back in the day my Mayflower descended grandparents and their friends would leave a cooked beef roast out on the counter overnight. It was considered a normal thing to do. My grandmother always referred to the fridge as “the icebox” because when she was growing up it was actually an ice box that stored perishables.[/quote]
