I would love to go back to having substantive policy debates at the national level. I doubt that it will happen any time soon. Personally, I say let the Republican party die. Maybe it will be replaced by something better that actually embodies the values that Republicans claim to support (before they proved that they were willing to give them all up in favor of power by supporting Trump and friends).
