Yes, she did win her first election for AG, in the actual red wave year of 2010, with an immensely popular Republican governor, against the much more experienced and popular Republican DA of Los Angeles County, in a race Karl Rove poured national money into because he though she was a star and wanted to nip her career in the bud. Yes it was close but that was a surprise win and she came from behind to do it.
