My son applied with similar stats last year. He had planned to apply RD but after the ED1 round our school counselor suggested he move it to ED2, based on what she saw in the first round. He was accepted and is happy there now. In the regular round, several of his classmates with better stats (yes, I know, that's not the whole picture- but it is the easiest apples:apples comparison) were rejected or waitlisted. All in all, two kids from our HS were accepted ED1, my son ED2, and the only kid (that he knows of) to be accepted in the regular round was legacy & had a 740V/800M.

Small sample size, but it made us confident in our decision to go with ED2.[/quote]
