I am guessing they are "inadvertently" removing citizens too. It happened to me in 2013, the last time we had a Republican governor.
“The agency alleges that Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin violated the NVRA when announcing and subsequently carrying out an executive order which required the election commissioner to regularly update the state’s voter lists to remove individuals who have been "identified as noncitizens," and had not responded to a request to verify their citizenship in 14 days.” Were you identified as a non-citizen, and did you receive a request to verify your citizenship you didn’t respond to? Because that’s what VA is doing. They are only removing voters who have been identified as non-citizens and haven’t responded to verify their citizenship.
I am the farthest anybody could be from a non-citizen...I was born right here in Virginia. I received no communication of any sort. I showed up to the polls, voter card in hand and the election workers could not find me on the rolls. I had to cast a provisional ballot.
Personally, I think Governor Youngkin should be charged with one felony for every US citizen he erroneously purges from the voter rolls with his law breaking actions. He actually violated federal laws. He should be handcuffed by the FBI in public.
The voters are given an opportunity to show proof they are citizens and before they are purged. You want a governor handcuffed by the fbi and charged with a felony if the voter doesn’t show that they are legally allowed to vote in an election? We have laws that are designed to protect our elections, that to you, are meaningless. You don’t care if elections are safeguarded and legally conducted. He’s breaking the law if he doesn’t follow election law and ensures people are voting legally. Should we not have to register and show proof we are citizens before we vote?
Blah blah blah. There’s a 90 quiet period and you fascists are happy to trample that, without any evidence of any wrongdoing.
Our laws state that only citizens are legally allowed to vote in our elections. 365 days a year, our laws are in place. You criminals are happy to break our laws to allow non-citizens to illegally vote in our elections.
