So, we have jello, and pie? Is that really all? 😳
Pie? Hell, the Romans had pie.
So, down to...just jello?
No, every modern cuisine in the world , came from somewhere and someone else. French, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Korean etc were all influenced over time by conquest, occupation, immigration and trade. It is just as hard to identify French dishes under strict criteria that components or techniques didn’t originate elsewhere as it is for American food. Just as there are variations between regions within nations, there can be modern variations between nations. American Apple Pie is different from a British Mincemeat Pie. An iconic American hot dog is different from an iconic German sausage in a bun or a Polish sausage in a bun in Poland.
