There are plenty of things to criticize Trump for, but him being against horrible criminals who do horrible things is not one of them
It's the SELECTIVE focus on migrants who commit crimes that's the problem. Lots of native-born Americans do horrible things and he doesn't talk about them.
In fact, far more native-born Americans do horrible things. Illegal immigrants commit crimes at a 60% per capita lower rate than natural born Americans. Illegal immigrants are model citizens compared to Americans, and that is an indisputable, undeniable fact. Demonizing them as "criminals" is racism, pure and simple.
What year is that stat from?
Here's a fun realization. If you didn't have 25 million illegal immigrants, you would have a 0% per capita lower rate than natural born americans. Wait, then you could devote more resources to those terrible natural born americans. Illegal immigration is a drain on every resource in the country.
Here's another fun realization: our economy does somewhat rely on those illegal immigrants who work the dirty jobs, those industries that lean heavily R (farms, janitorial work, lawn care). So, if you want to get rid of illegal immigration, a wall won't cut it because a lot of them just get work visas then over stay their visa working in those industries. You want to kick them all out? You gotta kill the demand in those industries. How to do that. Make the penalty so high that it becomes not worth it. Right now, the penalty is tiny in comparison to the profit those businesses (many owned by Rs) can make by hiring cheap labor. But, Rs will never do this because those business owners are their voters and donors. I don't hear Trump/Vance supporting higher penalties, do you? Of course not, because Trump's hotels even use those cheap illegal immigrant labor, as do many of his friends' businesses. So, instead, Vance throws the boogey man out about legal Haitians living here, and like the cult members MAGA are, they lap it up. A border wall will do nothing about the visa overstayers.
