How about Debbie Harry - was she allowed to give some thought to her clothes or was it also incredibly uncool for her to care about her appearance?

She just happened to have these boots lying around - or she carefully selected a pair of amazing boots, put them on, and thought about how to look both cool and sexy?

Right, and no one said she should. But for people saying it's super uncool to think about what you're wearing - the point is that even the people who look most effortlessly cool have put thought into what they are wearing. They just make it look like they haven't. It's not strange or uncool for OP to think about what she's going to wear either - esp since she is interested in appearing available. [/quote]
