Repeat after me - it's not that we *can't* have a party without alcohol, it's that it's more enjoyable if one can have a glass or two.  For one thing, it makes uptight twits who might be in attendance (ahem, PP) more tolerable.  [/quote]

No, this has not been proven, because it is incorrect. Many people enjoy themselves more with a glass or two of their favorite tipple. Thus, it has a redeeming quality. Do you honestly think that people throughout the millennia have been imbibing something which they find to have "no redeeming qualities?"[/quote]
