Honestly, I have a child at Haycock and I think some (not all) of the parents are a little over the top. They are very vocal. If you recall at a PTA meeting last spring the principal even mentioned how Haycock parents have been a little too strong in their advocacy in the past and don't have the best reputation with the building and planning folks. I think that is an example of the tone some of the parents there take. Obviously, not all. I'm a Haycock parent and I don't act like that and you are probably the same. The jealousy comment is typical of that attitude. It implies that Haycock is so much better than everywhere else that of course everyone is jealous. It's exactly like the tear down comments on the real estate forum that say that if a poster doean't like tear downs it is because they are poor and can't afford one. Sometimes people here are unable to comprehend that someone else might choose a different school or house for other reasons an they are not necessarily jealous of other Haycock parents (or people that own tear downs or whatever).
I appreciate what you are saying, but when a poster responds to another poster who has kids at Haycock and does not believe a fence is needed by insulting them and calling her a moron, it is very hard not to conclude that the first poster is jealous, unhinged or both. The facilities/building people within FCPS don't like anyone who challenges their priorities, whether they are at Haycock, Falls Church HS, or the now-closed Clifton ES. That's just the way things are.
There are plenty of bad words being exchanged from many sides, and many of the pro-Haycock people who like to use the word "douchebag" are probably douchebags themselves.
