This didn’t age well. Ratings are way up & my college aged kid is obsessed with the Olympics and getting up at 5 am to watch volleyball (a sport, as far as I know, he had never watched before last week). He has also become quite conversant re: fencing.

It will be interesting to see the ratings for today’s basketball game.

The memes that came out of this one (the Norwegian Muffin Man, the embarrassing Australian breakdancer, etc.) have really helped make the Olympics fun this year. Add in personalities like Snoop and commentators like Laurie Hernandez and suddenly people want to watch again.[/quote]

I detest sports and even I have enjoyed watching the Olympics this time!

I love the Australian breakdancer but I also don't really think breakdancing belongs in the Olympics. Not sure why I feel that way when skateboarding, snowboarding, gymnastics, ice skating, all the rest of it, are all great for me. [/quote]
