Late 40s parent who also lives in upper NW (but only moved here when our kids were elementary-school age) -- why would you want to live here without kids? You pay a real estate premium for being in-bounds to good schools, the restaurants nearby are mostly not great, you can't easily walk to work downtown, and you're surrounded by other people's children. We live near City Ridge and have a few DINK neighbors, including some that are retired. Seems like people who want to live nearish DC stuff but without the drama like it here. Groceries stores, farmer's markets, indoor and outdoor pools, library, post office are within short walking distance.[/quote]
