In all cases I am familiar with (not all players but several) the process was contact made on 9/1 or after with unofficial visits made in fall of Junior year.  If the school and player are both interested then a verbal offer is made and accepted or declined.  Fall of Senior year an official visit is conducted with the players that have already made a verbal commitment but prior to the players signing the NLI.  Nothing is official until the NLI is signed.  The official visit just means that the school will pay for flight/hotel.[/quote]
