What is the point of AP Pre Calc? Why does that class need to be a college level one? Schools can offer Honors level. Sounds like another scam by College Board to get students to pay to take a test and buy test prep materials.
The "need" to add an AP version of Pre-Calc is also for students who start off with Algebra 1 in 9th grade (can you believe that is a typical path in many parts of the country, gasp! what?! not in MCPS!). By the time those students are in 12th grade, they have another college level course on their schedule too just as many seniors do.
AP Precalc is the only way around the honors for all trend which turns any honors class into the regular version.
