The idea of paying money for a mutt is mind-boggling. You have to be a pretty unethical person to BUY a dog, but if you're going to go that route, at least get a purebred.
You buy a dog from a shelter or rescue too.
No, you literally don't. You might make a donation, but no one is making a profit, and so no one has an incentive to create more unwanted dogs. If you keep buying dogs, breeders will keep churning them out, and we already have too many dogs.
Agreed. My $100 fee got my dog neutered, pain meds for 3 days , up to date vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment (1 month), heartworm test and heartworm prevention (1 month) and a haircut. I don't feel like I paid for the dog. I don't feel like I paid enough to cover the services either. The $100 seems like a token to ensure that you value your new animal enough to pay something towards their care.
If that is what you want to do good for you!
The problem is when people puppy shop, the strays inevitably end up as all of our problem. So, why don't you knock it off?
No I can say what I want. If don’t want a stray that is my decision.
