OP here - appreciate the various points of view The girl has been given growing set of independence over the years, but if someone gropes or touches ... or if there is a fight due to some misunderstanding and de-escalation techniques do not work.... not sure how that would turn out ... and i'd be a 45 minute drive away. they plan to use the water park For the folks with concerns.... any specifics to share? is it first hand or reliable second hand info ?
It sounds like your daughter maybe has some special needs or behavioral issues so I would talk to her support team and they can lay out a plan of what supports she would need to be able to go to a theme park with a friend. Maybe she has a worker who could go with them?
DP. My kid actually has SN and 6 Flags is one of the places I’m planning to push him to be independent! It’s a perfect place for kids to go on their own - lots to do in an enclosed space, tons of adults around, easy to navigate, easy to figure out what to do if you get lost. And amusement parks get tons of guests on the spectrum and staff are trained to be very nice to them IME.
