That's a lesson on hyperacceleration for those that follow. I'm sorry the you weren't able to make the needed adjustment after first semester.

It's a shame that the school allowed that to happen, and didn't transfer your kid to Calc AB. There is no good reason to keep a kid in BC with a B grade, when AB is an option. [/quote]

I think the hang up for your kid will be getting the low grade even after taking Calc AB.  Most high stats kids that I know go from pre-calculus to Calculus BC.  The overall rigor of other courses will also matter, plus ECs.  [/quote]
You may know a lot of kids, but in our very big HS was only one kid that did that and got C in it. (Got to Engineering UMD too).
We checked and were told not to skip Calc AB.

If you are talking Poolesville HS in Montgomery County the strongest kids take Calc BC sophomore year.
