What cost increases are driving budget pressures the most? I’ve read that MCPS is getting more money than last year, so expenses and costs must be much higher today than last year if such drastic cuts are necessary, I’d think. What’s driving it the most?
Inflation, Blueprint mandates, higher benefit expenses due to medications like Ozempic, lack of competency from the head of HR on how use data to balance positions and allocations.
The fact you continue to blame this on Ozempic lets me know you're completely delusional.
DP, but that's one of the things that has changed over the last year. Suddenly MCPS staff are creating a lot more healthcare spending. Reimbursements didn't go up, so it's based on usage.
And where's your definitive proof the medication is Ozempic? Oh yeah..there isn't any.
I don't know how to attach a picture here but go to the mcps webpage, board of education, search board docs and then search Ozempic. Click on any of the documents and you will see the reports that say - (direct QUOTE) "For FY2024 the total expenditures for the trust fund as projected in October 2023 by our healthcare consultant AON will be approximately $21 Million higher than the actual costs recorded by MCPS in FY2023...This increase is mainly because of the rise in prescription claims trends resulting from higher utilization of Glucagon-like 1 peptide drugs (for example Ozempic, Trulicity, etc.) as well as overall expenditure trend increases for general medical claims" Don't question me, I come with receipts and knowledge.
Why are you discriminating against fat people?
