My immediate thought is, why was he using the student’s bathroom and not the faculty bathroom? He wouldn’t be in this mess if he had used the faculty bathroom.
Ah, yes victim blame. There’s no way this aggressive student would’ve threatened him any other time if he had just used the faculty bathroom  .
But anyplace else would have probably been on camera.
There are cameras in classrooms?
If not cameras, there are around 15-20 witnesses.
This. Really interesting this all went down in the student bathrooms. Not victim blaming, not student shaming, just find it really interesting and convenient. Also agree with someone up thread that said it’s your dad still on leave, and not the student still suspended.
Wow. People have not worked in a secondary school setting. Or only have mentally well adults in their lives. I taught in multiple schools across the SES spectrum. There is always a kid who is a little off and it may present itself differently, but it is not completely out of the realm that a kid could start making fun of and bullying a teachers aide. Especially an older one who seems vulnerable. The school needs to put him on admin leave. It doesn’t mean it’s his fault. They just need to cover themselves in case. (I don’t know that it’s not OP’s dad’s fault, but the fact that he’s on leave doesn’t mean it is his fault.) Agree with others who said to contact the union. Also, does he need this job? Is he getting benefits through this? He should be proactive if so.
