This is actually a WAY bigger ( pardon the pun) deal than most people think. I was incredibly small in my freshman year of hs, and I looked like an elementary schooler. I was born late in the year, and my parents chose to send me to school early rather than wait a year and send me to school as one of the oldest. I really wish they hadn't done that- I was too small to shine in some of the sports I was good at. I was taunted for being the small guy, and my disposition was such that I couldn't take it lying down so I got into fights. Plus, and I didn't read all of the comments here, but back then kids showered at school and I was mortified that I hadn't hit puberty yet. It sucked. Unfortunately, what can you do? Nature is nature and there is no way to rush it. I will say that as a positive byproduct of this, I got into lifting weights really early and it has become a lifelong pursuit! Tell the young man to hang in there.
NP here. I hear what you’re trying to say, but you as a freshman at 5’ and this kid as a freshman at 5’6” seems to be a big difference. This kid is about the median height for a 15 year old.
