Any temptation to cheat the diet guidelines disappeared immediately when a friend told me their husband's colon was deemed unclear enough to go through with the colonoscopy. To have to repeat all of that prep + fleet enema (with hours sitting on toilet all night) + anesthesia all over again is something I only want to do as few times as possible.
+1 These questions are all stupid. You are an adult. You have no self control for one single day. Skip the drops of milk. Get the colonoscopy done. Then, you can drink as much coffee with milk as you want. Why risk doing the prep all over again for a few drops of milk. Are you stupid! Follow the prep directions. These are the same prep instructions with every GI doctor. It gets you ready for a clear scan. Just do it!
So I’m the op of this thread. Survivors the 3 days of bland food and no food. I was very, very hangry on the no food day though. The actual prep was much better than I thought it would be. I took the 12 pills at 4 pm and 4 am. After about 8 of them each time I did get nauseous. The nurse did tell me that sometimes the prep only clears one side of your colon and they can’t tell until they go in. I am so happy not to have to do it again for 5 years.
