A middle aged mom who wants to convey that she's cool and relaxed by offering/having wine at playdates. Wants to get "all the moms" together for a wine tasting in her backyard or to visit a vineyard while the "boys go golfing." Very brand conscious, but not necessarily stylish. Can be fun to hang out with but can also be gossipy and shallow, depends on which side of her you get and how bad her drinking problem is. Some wine moms don't have drinking problems, exactly, but they do revolve a lot of their lives around alcohol. The key is that their alcohol consumption is a personality trait, something they advertise and talk up, because they think it says something about them that makes them cooler or more down to earth than other moms. They are not just moms who sometimes drink wine. They are "wine moms."[/quote]
