What percentage of the senior class at Sidwell/GDS/STA/NCS has been accepted at a T25?
***crickets*** Maybe the Niche rankings are right?
Going off of the Sidwell instagram page 33/63 posted students are going to top 25s which is a notably higher percentage than BIM. GDS has more than 40% of the posted class going to top 25s. Much more impressive to do it with a larger class since there is less variance and these schools also don't get nearly the same bump BIM does from having UVA as a top 25 school that your whole class gets to apply to in-state. BIM does not at all deserve its Niche Ranking, also do not believe a good high school experience can be had when your whole grade is smaller than a kindergarten grade at a T3.
I agree but Sidwell is also not known for its fun highschool years. Its reputation is for having very stressed out overworked kids. It is not known to be a happy place for highschool students either.
You clearly don’t have children who attend Sidwell. There are unhappy children at every school (due to mental health issues or parents forcing their child to attend a school that isn’t a good fit for their child’s personality or abilities). My US Sidwell children would describe Sidwell as a “work hard, play hard” school. Will you have to study and do the work if you want good grades? Yes. Will you have many opportunities for fun as well (sports, clubs, school traditions, parties/dances, interesting speakers, including former First Lady and Senator Hillary Clinton)? Yes. Today is Senior Skip Day at Sidwell. In addition, seniors will basically be off campus for the entire month of May, working on their senior projects. Past senior projects have included seniors who want to learn golf or a new language. And that’s all they need to really focus on for one month. That sounds like fun to me!
