How old are your kids? I’m getting a lab puppy next month. I have always wanted a dog and kids do too. I have three teenagers 14,15,19. .. I know the dog will fall on me but you are scaring me lol.
This is me. I have teenagers (15 and 18) and we got a puppy. I had wanted a dog forever, but when the kids were young we were just way too busy. Now has been perfect. I knew going in he was going to be mine and the work will be on me. He is 8 months and I love him. I think he is also helping take the sting of my oldest leaving for college. Having a dog is definitely different for different people.
100% this. I have a 21, 19 and 15 year old. We got a dog 5 years ago and it's been the best decision even though I 100% NEVER wanted a dog. Guess what, I am now my dog's person and I love it. Two of mine are in college and one is in school all day so it's just the dog and I during the day. I love it. She is my shadow. I'm even considering getting a second on when when the youngest goes to college. It's definitely good to have kids around when they're a puppy because it really is a lot of work but it's for a fairly short period of time. Totally worth it.
