My favorite exchange in the thread... One can only hope that their children are smarter (and less self absorbed and smug) than many of the posters here.

Dear OP I want to extend a heartfelt apology to you that your child was not accepted in the FCPS Advanced Academic Program. Given the sharp sarcasm in your post it's clear that this has been very hard on you. One can only hope that you haven't shared your sorrow and contempt with your innocent child. Just know that we, out here in the cyber world, feel your pain. But now that you've vented and chided and vented some more, it is time to let it go. AAP is just like Special Education, Speech, PT and OT. If a student demonstrates a need, the services are provided. This is not unique to FCPS. I understand if you don't like the process but it's time to let go.
Umm, OP here... My child has been in the AAP program at a center school for two years now so I am not completely sure what it is that I am suppose to "let go" of. She loves her classmates at her AAP school and I'm pretty sure that I have not shared any sorrow or contempt with her for "not being" in a program that she is actually in. I do feel REALLY GUILTY about item #8 in my list though since my child gets all that extra sunlight, it makes me feel bad for the other students...
