She basically abandoned them though, right?  Haven’t the kids spoken out and said something to that effect?  I understand her needing to get away from Tom, but I don’t ever think I’ll understand how she just left her kids with him and then created a new family with Keith Urban. [/quote]

But even if Scientology / Tom forbade it, in the great state of California, there’s something called parental rights. Even if a court wouldn’t give her joint custody (which would be very unlikely but let’s assume Scientology can influence CA state judges), she could’ve gotten visitation. Why didn’t she pursue legal options?  Then again, Tom would’ve had legal options when it came to Suri too. So who knows, maybe Scientology is at the root of all this… or else Nicole just wasn’t that committed to being a mom of her two kids, and Tom just wasn’t that committed to being a dad to Suri.

The most bias judge will not deny an emotionally and mentally fit mother from visitation. When Nicole walked away after Tom humiliated her with the divorce, she walked away from her adopted children. Maybe she never really bonded with them as a mother and it was easy to start over. [/quote]
