I found dcum because we might be moving to the DC area, so a search for a DC real estate forum brought me here.  Most outsiders end up here just because they googled some random parenting topic.  This is the most active message board I have ever visited, so it does become addictive.  It's incredibly active and entertaining because it's anonymous.  We can post without having to take the time to sign in, and we can post whatever we want without having to worry about our comments being inconsistent with our previous posts.  If you found a way to make it strictly DC, you would lose a lot of that, so be careful what you wish for, OP!

Hate to burst your "demographic bubble," but indicating that you prefer to share your opinions with only like-minded people does sound elitist. Having said that, I can appreciate that you'd like to get opinions from other parents and residents of the greater DC area. Although I no longer live in the area, I only respond to posts that are more general--like cooking, national politics, special education, etc.[/quote]
