With our son, the solution isn’t to give him more cash. The solution is to make sure he has some *skin in the game*. He started working part time a few weeks ago, and he treats his *own money* with more care.l! Fun money will be on him going forward  - we will stop the cash allowance all together. If he works 10-15 hours per week at school, it’s more than enough to cover his entertainment during the school year, plus summer job he can contribute to gas and expenses for our car he drives. . Im tired of getting the car back with an empty tank! They have to have skin in the game which I think is fair considering we pay for everything else and he will graduate debt free. [/quote]
