Exactly, and now the biggest right wing influencer of them all is on it.
Musk is a moron, but the suicide risk for non oral hormonal birth control is actually true, per a Denmark study. I’ve known a lot of women who had to stop depo-provera because of the affects on their mental health. I also agree with the Denmark study that more studies are needed.
Bullcrap.
Dismissing the data, instead of talking about it, isn’t going to be doing anyone any favors. Have you taken birth control before? You should understand that they can cause things like depression and mood disturbances for some women. Switching birth control is the best way to alleviate these problems.
Yes I have. I was on the pill for 20 years, and on a Mirena IUD for another 5. Which meant I had a great sex life and only the exact number of babies I wanted. I know of zero women my age who stopped the pill because of depression. We are in our 60s and saw the terrible affect of too many children on our mothers. They got married too early just to have sex then git trapped with no careers and too many children. I see women on thus board pushing this garbage that hormonal birth control is dangerous, and it is ludicrous. Read The Women's Room and educate yourself.
I also took it for decades. I had to switch because one made me feel like I was losing my mind. Dismissing these side effects, instead of telling women how to fix them, is both stupid and dangerous. Refusing to talk about it will only help the crazy people who want to talk women out of taking birth control. I facilitated getting my teen on birth control, but I was also honest with her about side effects. Hiding information because you think it makes women have too many babies is absolutely ridiculous.
