What's this complex about height? Look for mental width, emotional clarity, moral depth and social stature. Someone who can be a partner in good and bad times and is good for more than playing basketball.
Makes me nervous for my sons since I don’t know how tall they will be.
Reading posts here and knowing some married men, I know who to council my ds and dd against. It's like a lid for every pot, if you grew up with a culture of eating disorder parenting, you won't care if your boyfriend points out when your weight fluctuates. If you cake on makeup and like instagram face, you might go for the jacked guy who dyes his skin orange. If you are used to empathy and intelligence, you're not likely to be impressed by height. The same goes for tolerance of sexism and racism. The problem with trends is that people superficially rule out some great matches but I am hoping my kids won't be the type to jump on those trends when dating but we can only show them what behaviors we do/don't tolerate. Do you usually see people veering so far off from the style of family and community they came from?
