Obama. It really cracks me up that Ryan has acquired for himself this reputation as an intellectual heavyweight. He got a fluff degree from a school that accepts almost everybody who applies, briefly "worked" as a "marketing consultant" (we all know what that means) for his family firm and then went into politics and since then has been spewing out Cato and Heritage Institute nostrums he probably barely understands. Whoopteedoo. Oh and don't forget, Romney doesn't need no stinking Medicare. He recently opted to stay with his private gold-plated health insurance plan for bazillionaires. I have no interest in continuing to pay through the nose for the Medicare costs of the 55 and up crowd for the next 30 years (that's about how long they're going to live, right?) if we're not eligible after having ponied up for so long.
Huh? Economics and Political science aren't fluff degrees. And Miami University is a selective institution. At the time it had just been named in Richard Moll's book as one of the eight "Public Ivies." The other Public Ivies were: University of Virginia University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) University of Texas (Austin) William and Mary University of California (as of 1985) University of Vermont University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) Miami University is also one of four universities in the nation to graduate both a president (Benjamin Harrison) and a Super Bowl-winning quarterback (Ben Roethlisburger). Famous alums include: PJ O'Rourke, Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington, former Rep. Michael Oxley and numerous other members of Congress, Steve Richetti, and the current and former CEOS of Nestle, AT&T, Procter & Gamble, and UPS. Attack Ryan for his views all you want, but to imply that his alma mater is akin to the University of Phoenix or something is just ludicrous and makes you look stupid.
