I have no problem with putting murderers and rapists to death. We should make it a streamlined process.
+1 Add child abusers to that list. I truly don't understand the minds of anti-capital punishment people.
Some of us simply feel the government should not kill people. - Victim of child sexual abuse, who was very relieved when my abuser died naturally, but would never have condoned the government killing him.
I think the way the death penalty is applied isn’t good, and I also don’t think any crime other than murder should be punished with it. (Despite how awful CSA is). Like, the guy that was recently executed with nitrogen.. seemed like a pretty run-of-the mill murder-for-hire case. I really don’t see why he should have been executed but the Parkland shooter gets off. Massmurder, serial killers, and people who commit extremely egregious crimes like murder+SA of a child. Do not, in my opinion, deserve to live out their lives in a cell. If dying was a preferable punishment (which many claim life sentences are worse) then they’d end it themselves. This is obviously not often the case. And as for the person who mentioned the sibling of the Parkland shooter who didn’t want the DP. I’m pretty sure he was literally the only family member that didn’t. I don’t want to continually move to the left on crime and punishment. Like there are many things wrong with our criminal justice system but I never want to live in a country like Norway where: Someone like Anders Breivik can kill 8 people in a car bombing then methodically shoot to death 69 youth at a summer cap and be given “the maximum sentence of 21 years after 10 of which he will be eligible for parole” I don’t care if it can “continue to be extended” all it takes is a sympathetic judge to release him. Then you see the kind of stuff he complains about in prision In November 2012, Breivik wrote a 27-page letter of complaints to the prison authorities, talking about the security restrictions he was being held under, claiming that the prison director personally wanted to punish him. In letters to foreign media outlets, he told them about his demands to prison authorities "including easier communication with the outside world and a PlayStation 3 to replace the current PlayStation 2, because it offered more suitable games"; media reported in 2014 about demands that he would starve himself to death if he was refused "access to a sofa and a bigger gym"; furthermore he said that "Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids' games. One example is "Rayman Revolution", a game aimed at three-year-olds," Breivik complained to prison officials."[181][182] In September 2015, Breivik again threatened a hunger strike, because of deteriorating prison conditions,[165] but delayed in order to sue the Norwegian Government over prison conditions.[159] This MF gets to play playstation in prison and has the chance of release. He’s went up to the parole board 2 or three times already actually. After killing 77 people, most of whom were teens or young adults. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anders_Behring_Breivik#Complaints_about_prison_conditions This is honestly the kind of thing I think many are trying to push towards here and it’s sickening.
