He didn't seem to be injured but I knocked at every house on the block and no one claimed him or knew where he belonged. This was before cell phones and I asked a homeowner to call police non emergency. When policeman got there he couldn't believe that I had stuck around. I followed policeman to nearby vet. Dog did have a chip and owner was notified. I never heard anything more.[/quote]
