When you say "a man who is competent, smart, generous and loves women will never go home alone," you are right but that many may not end up with the woman he wants.  A lot of women want me because I am a man who is competent, smart, generous and loves women.  I do go home alone, sometimes, but I do pretty well.  Unfortunately I have been crushed when women who seemee compatible ended up going for idiots or jerks who knew how to put up drywall, play a mean guitar riff, ski expert trails, etc.[/quote]
