If she’s just a girlfriend, tell him it’s just a family trip. This only works if you don’t invite anyone else’s temporary love interest. I have a cousin who is a serial dater, and her parade of annual flavors is almost as annoying as the random church hangers-on that invite themselves to my parents’ house three times a year for various holidays. If your dad makes drama about your family only travel, then he doesn’t have to attend even if he is invited. It’s his choice.
Ugh. You sound like a really selfish people with terrible manners. It’s nice of your parents to include the church goers who doesn’t have anywhere to go for the holidays. Spend a few minutes being a nice person and making their holiday less bleak by chatting with them And if the rest of the family is like you, perhaps that’s why people don’t want to marry your cousin. Adults absolutely should have the “right” to bring “just” their girlfriends to holiday dinners.
