And, seriously, if they don't? It isn't the end of the world. They can go to community college and work and apply for spring semester.

It might not be the path they wanted, but we need to stop framing these things as 'life and death'.  It's no wonder there is such a HUGE amount of mental health issues in teens/young adults.

I agree with this and I am trying to really internalize it this year as I have a 11th grader who is very stressed they may have a C that will blemish a not perfect but very good transcript. I know he will have options no matter what and I don’t want him to see this as a life or death issue. We get a clean slate in college (or CC).He is a hard worker and very young. He will be much better off than just “okay”, no matter what happens— as long as he stays positive and engaged in his life plans for his future and his well being. Trying to remind myself to present things this way to him. [/quote]
