And even that kid's parents weren't surprised. Some kids who did, with their grades and "resume", it was pretty shocking as the narrative that I'd heard was that JMU was being more selective. That's not to say it's not a great school and a lot of fun. That describes my own non-elite college. But, the odds are in your favor. [/quote] JMU used to be WAY more selective. Only a 35% acceptance rate back in the early 1990s...though the school was much smaller as well. Somehow this narrative continues to survive that it is now more selective, when that is far from the truth.[/quote]
