Wow. A couple of takeaways, one serious and one frivolous.

1) It sounds like the victim did all the right things, including filing a report using the "correct" form, and if she can demonstrate that Walker breached protocol and common decency by disclosing her name, this feels like a pretty open-and-shut case of retaliation.

2) How old are the people in this story and why are they drinking to the point of blacking out with [b]coworkers?[/b] Even if we leave aside the part of this story that's about bullying and sexual harassment, I've been an MCPS parent long enough to have heard and seen evidence of reams of stories about workplace affairs. Far more than I've ever seen in my own field. What is it about education that brings so much drama among the adult employees? Is it just the close quarters? [/quote]
These are good points and not frivolous at all.

It sounds to me like Walker is in deep jeopardy unless he can point his finger up the chain of command.

I would also say that the retaliation case includes the coverup allegations. So that would give the claimant potentially broad access to MCPS internal communications responding to the Washington Post story which could reveal a lot of additional malfeasance or at the very least cause significant reputational harm.

Looking at how MCPS handled the Damascus litigation, they will probably try to delay this as much as possible and will likely be successful delaying this for many years and then eventually settle once they’re required to provide discovery and give depositions.

There needs to be more oversight and I hope that this will eventually precipitate more mechanisms to ensure that MCPS is held to generally accepted standards of accountability.[/quote]
