[/quote] The entire problem with Iran began in 1956 when the US overthrew the democratically elected, secular government of Mohammed Mosaddegh and installed the brutal Shah of Iran. All because of oil. That turned a western-oriented, secular society against the West. Opposition galvanized around a fundamentalist, Shi'a religious movement and that's how we got the Islamic Revolution that gave as the ayatollahs that rule to this day. I'm thinking the US should stay out of the overthrowing governments business. Every problem we have with Iran today was caused by our decisions in 1956. [/quote]
