Soft serve is simply ice cream that is served after churning but before blast freezing, it can be powdered or it can be Jeni's quality. Take a trip to Vermont and try a creemee from a dairy farm, it'll be made with fresh milk and cream from cows 20 feet away, and maple syrup tapped from the trees you're looking at.
