This is how they want you to react.

I am a woman who has been sexually assaulted.  It diminishes what happened to me when people cry wolf.  When Hollywood starlets who didn’t make it sleep with famous people and then later have regrets?  Cry me a river.  I was sexually assaulted by a random stranger who cornered me and forced himself on me.  It absolutely minimizes what I went through.  It makes me feel like my experience is nothing and no one cares, even though it was much worse in reality.

A violent assault by a stranger isn't the only the.only definition of rape.  I have never heard a rape survivor play my experience was worse.

I do know many men who have engaged in questionable behavior try to justify their actions by claiming they weren't violent.

I could play the same game as you.
You weren't blinded , permanently disfigured or left with HIV so your rape wasn't real enough.

You only had one assailant so your rape wasn't real enough.

You didn't kill your attacker so you didn't resist enough and therefore your rape wasn't real.

Now imagine your attackers friends and fans telling you your rape wasn't real because he's a good guy to them and it must have just been a misunderstanding and you just regret partying to hard or drinking too much or maybe you shouldn't have been walking down the street at that time of day.
