I think it’s great that we honor the people who sacrifice in order to bring the city back onto its feet, and there were many touching examples of this. I do think it’s a little weird how people say “never forget” though. Never forget what? Of course anyone who was alive and old enough to remember, will. “Never forget” makes it sound like there’s some sort of lesson to be learned from this, which I’m not sure there was.
